Your Initial Breast Implant Consultation

Before scheduling your procedure for breast implants, you will meet with one of our certified Seattle plastic surgeons. At this initial consultation, we ask you questions about your medical history, current state of health, and desired results. Our goal is to cater your procedure to your unique wishes and expectations so we get an idea of what size, shape, and feel you are looking for. We will then examine and measure your breasts. Once this assessment is complete, we discuss your options for the procedure and determine how best to suit your needs.

Procedure Recovery

Recovery from breast augmentation surgery typically takes about 4-8 weeks, with most post-op symptoms resolving within a week. During this time, it is important to stay well-rested and refrain from physical activity and heavy lifting. You will be given a compression bra, which provides support for your implants and reduces swelling and bruising.

In the initial 24 hours after your procedure, you will likely feel sore and tired and may notice some swelling and bruising around the site. After the first week, your pain should decrease, and you may begin to return to normal activities. At this time, your implants will begin to settle into place.

By one month of recovery, you should feel little to no discomfort. At the discretion of your surgeon, you may begin to engage in light exercise. Continue avoiding strenuous activity, and wear your compression bra to promote healing.

Stay on top of follow-up appointments to ensure proper recovery. Even after you are fully healed, regular check-ups are recommended. While breast implants are generally considered safe, there are risks to the procedure, including infection, rupture, and pain. Contact your surgeon or seek immediate medical attention if your implants begin to look or feel abnormal.
