He will walk you through your options and explain the details of the breast augmentation procedure, and together you will decide on the details and timing of your procedure.

Dr. Min understands that one of the biggest fears people have about plastic surgery is not knowing what they will look like. This is why we are so pleased to be one of the few practices in our area utilizing the Vectra 3D Imaging System. The Vectra, allows Dr. Min to simulate what you will look like with different sizes and types of implants. This powerful tool allows you to see a realistic preview of your post-operative results. Finally, Dr. Min will make sure you know exactly what will happen on the day of your procedure, what you will experience while you recover, and what you can expect in the months and years to follow.

There are many factors that influence your decision to get breast implants. Our goal is to ensure that we recommend a procedure that will match your goals and your lifestyle.

Implant Types

The two most common types of breast implants are silicone gel and saline. We will help you choose an implant that best meets your needs. In some cases, especially small augmentations or cosmetic improvements, Dr. Min may recommend a fat transfer technique that uses your body’s own fat cells in place of an implant.

Placement of Breast Implants

The placement of your implants can have a significant impact on how they look, feel and move. Dr. Min will help you understand the benefits of each. There are 3 basic placement options for your breast implants:

Subglandular Implants (also known as “overs”): The implant is placed under your breast tissue but over your pectoral (chest) muscles.
Partial Submuscular Implants (also known as “partial unders”): The implant is placed under your breast tissue and partially underneath your pectoral (chest) muscles.
Full or Complete Submuscular Implants (also known as “unders”): The implant is placed under your pectoral (chest) muscles.

Implant Sizes, Shapes, and Textures

Breast implants are measured in cubic centimeters (cc’s) and range from as small as 120cc to as large as 850cc. (360cc’s is equivalent to the amount of liquid in a can of soda). Choosing the size of your implants is more than just cup size. Dr. Min specializes in creating natural results. His recommendation will be based first and foremost on the look you desire, but it will also take into account how broad your chest is, the base width of your breasts, the distance between your breasts, and the laxity or looseness of your skin.
