Laser treatments are non-invasive and use modern laser technology to treat certain skin problems such as sun damage, wrinkles, unwanted hair and visible veins.
Some laser treatments also stimulate collagen production to help further improve your skin’s texture and firmness over time, and others can target hair follicles or blood vessels without damaging any surrounding skin.
There are different types of lasers, which are designed to be used for different purposes, some of which include:
- Reducing sun damage
- Age spots
- Redness
- Acne scars
- Unwanted hair
- Visible veins
- Signs of aging
Newvue Aesthetics Center offers a variety of laser treatments in Seattle, Kirkland, and the surrounding areas in Washington.
How they work
Laser treatments use concentrated beams of light to target a specific concern beneath or on the surface of the skin. Different lasers are designed to focus on different targets, such as dark spots caused by excess pigment, blood vessels, hair follicles, or water in the skin, depending on the type of laser being used.
Procedure time
Average time runs between 15 and 60 minutes.
Performed by
Newvue’s nurse injectors and master estheticians; board-certified dermatologist Dr. Gardner (Vbeam, BBL, and CoolPeel only).
Anesthesia
Topical numbing, local anesthetic or none, depending on the service.
Recovery
The recovery from your laser treatment depends on the type of laser treatment you had and how deeply it penetrated into your skin. Many laser treatments have little to no associated downtime and you can resume your normal schedule the same day, but more intense treatments, like laser skin resurfacing, may take a week or more. The treatment areas may be red, swollen, or sensitive for a few hours to a few days.
